Saint Herblain (France), 29 juillet 2019 – Valneva SE (“Valneva” ou “le Groupe”), société de biotechnologie développant et commercialisant des vaccins contre des maladies infectieuses générant d’importants besoins médicaux, a annoncé aujourd’hui la création d’un Conseil Scientifique (SAB) dans le cadre de l’évolution de sa structure de gouvernance.
The newly formed SAB will consist of distinguished academic and industry professionals who will provide the Company with guidance and expert advice on Research & Development (“R&D”) strategies. The SAB remit will also include program execution considerations in the framework of innovation, market dynamics and trends.
Le Dr. Ralf Clemens, MD, Ph.D. et le Dr. Alain Munoz, MD, Ph.D., anciens membres du conseil de surveillance de Valneva, rejoindront le Conseil Scientifique. Tous deux disposent d’une profonde connaissance du Groupe après avoir siégé pendant plusieurs années au sein de son conseil de surveillance. Le Dr. Clemens présidera le SAB.

D’autres membres permanents, ainsi que des membres ad hoc disposant d’une forte expertise dans des domaines spécifiques, rejoindront le SAB.
Dr. Clemens previously headed vaccine development at GSK, Novartis and Takeda. He advises and supports several very significant organizations, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the GHIT Fund and is Member of the Board of Trustees of the International Vaccine Institute IVI. Over his years in the industry, he has led the clinical development of more than 25 different vaccines globally and published extensively in the fields of vaccines, immunization and tropical medicine.
Le Dr. Munoz a été Senior Vice-President du développement international chez Sanofi et Senior Vice-President de la division pharmaceutique des Laboratoires Fournier. Sous sa direction, plusieurs médicaments importants, comme Plavix ou Tricor, ont été développés de la recherche amont à la mise sur le marché. Le Dr. Munoz siège au sein de différents conseils de surveillance dont ceux d’Hybrigenics SA, OxThera AB et de Zealand Pharma A/S.
Le nouveau SAB devrait être opérationnel d’ici la fin 2019.
