Protecting Lives

We develop, manufacture, and commercialize prophylactic vaccines for infectious diseases addressing unmet medical needs. We provide vaccines to people around the world, and ensuring access to healthcare and patient safety are among our most important goals.

• We donated over €33,000 to health-related charitable organizations around the world, including the Baan Dek Foundation and Encephalitis International in 2023.

Respecting the Environment

As a specialty vaccine company focused on prevention of infectious diseases, Valneva is aware that the environment directly affects people’s health. In addition, we are aware that man-made or natural disasters, as well as public health emergencies, may disrupt our business. With that in mind, we recognize the need to manage our carbon footprint, waste and consumption, taking environmental issues into account.

• 100% of the electricity used at our manufacturing and R&D sites is of renewable origin.

Foundations and Memberships

The United Nations Global Compact

In line with its CSR approach, Valneva supports the United Nations Global Compact and incorporates the UNGC’s ten principles into its strategies, policies and procedures.

Supporting the Baan Dek Foundation

Baan Dek (or, “Kids Home” in English) is a Thai-registered foundation with the mission of providing vulnerable children and their families with critical access to education, health and safety services. Baan Dek delivers regular health awareness sessions covering critical issues like immunization, reproductive health, nutrition, and hygiene. Valneva has been an official sponsor of the Baan Dek Foundation since 2016, noting that Baan Dek’s health and safety goals align perfectly with Valneva’s work to help protect lives around the world.

Encephalitis International

Valneva supports Encephalitis International, the brain inflammation non-profit that envisions a world without death and disability from encephalitis. Their mission is to rebuild futures around the world by saving lives, accelerating awareness and driving research.

Local community engagement

Valneva also supports social engagement at the local level. Valneva believes in the importance of social engagement and encourages its employees to participate in charity events and volunteer in their local communities.
