Saint Herblain (France), 14 janvier 2020 Saint Herblain (France), 14 janvier 2020 – Valneva SE (“Valneva” ou “le Groupe”), a annoncé aujourd’hui que le Département américain de la Défense (DoD) avait exercé une option pour acheter 80 000 doses supplémentaires du vaccin contre l’encéphalite japonaise, IXIARO®. ® . Cette option porte la valeur du contrat signé en janvier 2019 avec le Département américain de la Défense à $70 millions. [1] L’approvisionnement lié à cette option va débuter très prochainement.
Valneva prévoit, par ailleurs, de signer un nouveau contrat avec le Département de la Défense durant le premier semestre de cette année.

Les ventes d’IXIARO® est le seul vaccin contre l’encéphalite japonaise approuvé par l’autorité de santé américaine, la FDA. Le vaccin a été développé dans le cadre d’un accord de collaboration de recherche et développement avec le Centre de recherche de l’armée américaine « Walter Reed Army Institute of Research ». Valneva assure le marketing et la distribution d’IXIARO® ® à l’armée américaine et sur le marché privé américain.
